Job Summary
Within our Enrollment Management Technology division, this position will require involvement in the design, development, testing, and support phases of our products, using the Microsoft .NET framework and C# to construct web-based applications and supporting services for Windows servers. You will have the opportunity to work on software currently being used by hundreds of universities and thousands of students on a daily basis. We follow the spirit of Agile development, where features start small and build over time, with short development cycles, frequent releases, meaning that your work gets in the hands of customers in the matter of weeks or months.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Developing and testing code
• Writing unit tests
• Maintaining and enhancing existing products
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
• 2 years experience doing web development with Visual Studio .NET, C#/VB.NET, and ASP.NET
• Strong programming knowledge, fluency in C# or VB.NET, and solid understanding of OOP concepts
• Strong web development skills, with good working knowledge of JavaScript, XML, CSS and HTML
• Some experience with AJAX and Web 2.0 concepts a plus
• Good working knowledge of one or more databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), including SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
• A passion for coding, a positive attitude, and an eagerness to learn, try new things, and have fun
Preferred Experience
• Some experience with .NET 3.5 technologies such as WCF, WPF, WWF, and LINQ
• Experience writing web services and/or Windows services
• Familiar with jQuery and Ext Js
• Some exposure to design patterns, unit testing, source code control, and agile development methods
