Job Title: Software Developer

Job Description:
Work within a small team to enhance and maintain an array of next-generation earthquake engineering research support applications including: data acquisition from video cameras, still image cameras, and sensors, archiving and real-time data visualization, and experimental data playback and cross-comparison.

Your Duties:
• Perform object-oriented analysis and architectural design (evaluating design patterns, refactoring, etc.)
• Document, design, implement, test, and maintain several codebases in Java/C++
• Provide hands-on assistance with hardware configuration and maintenance
• Evaluate and acquire new tools and technologies
• Work with visiting faculty and graduate students to meet researcher needs

Your Qualifications:
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 3 years professional coding experience. C++ and Java are preferred, but we will consider those who demonstrate aptitude in similar languages
• Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle including specification, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly self-motivated, with demonstrated good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good RDBMS and network programming fundamentals including database design, SQL, sockets, and web protocols
• Experience administering Windows and Linux environments is preferred, but not required
