Reporting to the Director of Frontend Engineering, this contributing lead willfocus on building products that delight Meebos community.Your Frontend team will recognize that a key part of the end-user experiencehappens outside of wireframes and mockups its an eye for small pixel issuesand seamless transitions, the desire to design nimble and elegant code bases inanticipation of future product innovation, and the initiative to work cooperativelywith Product and User Experience teams to give end-users the best out of eachrelease cycle.Your strength comes in knowing how to build a team of multi-dimensional teammembers who specialize in different technologies such as JavaScript, Python, orHTML/CSS and who work fluidly together. To make your team shine, youll bekeeping a keen eye on the health and stability of the codebase, working with otherMeebo teams to assess feasibility for new concepts, pulling up a chair to pitch inwhen a team member needs an extra boost of support, and continuing to lead andmentor to the success of your superstars.Responsibilities include: * Bring out the best in your Frontend team including mentoring, pats on the back, and hiring * Serve as the point person to prioritize tasks, assess feasibility, and outline roadmap features with Product Management teams * Establish onboarding plans for newcomers coming up to speed * Keep up-to-date with latest Web technology trends and proactively share recommendations as appropriate * Work with User Experience teams to creatively solve end-user problems * Other duties as the opportunity requiresRequirements include: * 5-7 years of significant JavaScript expertise with experience leading two or more individuals or significant experience leading Web team with prior examples of showing initiative to learn new Web languages and to roll up sleeves when necessary * Familiarity with Web technology landscape include JavaScript frameworks, open source initiatives, and industry trends * Previous experience managing or leading two or more individuals on team for two or more years * Previous experience launching and deploying large consumer-facing products, startup experience a plus * Previous experience working with multiple teams, ability to translate engineering requirements to other non-engineering teams, desire to work with other teams to understand Sales and Marketing requirements * Bachelors or Masters degree in computer-related field
