Senior Systems AdministratorNew Relic is seeking an outstanding Linux Senior Sysadmin. This person will help administer New Relic's next gen production infrastructure - core to our value proposition. As a Web2.0 SaaS company, New Relic's success is dependent on excellent datacenter operations. This individual will work closely with the Director of Technical Operations to architect, plan, build and maintain New Relic's state of the art datacenter. The individual will also be responsible for Level 2 support of our cluster.At New Relic we are passionate - possibly even crazy - about Web application performance. Requirements:5+ years of Unix/Linux experience.Excellent knowledge of the Linux operating system and programs: DNS, NIS, TCPIP, DHCP, kernel tuning and file systems Must have a track record building scalable Internet infrastructure.Excellent knowledge of shell scripting and automation. Ruby would be a plus.Mastery at systems, patch and software deployment and be able to maintain uniformity across a large number of systems.Good working knowledge of MYSQL.Must be a self starter and drive projects to successful completion in a timely fashion.Excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with software developers and other business stakeholders.Computer Science degree a plusThis position will work in our San Francisco (South Park) office, convenient to train and BART, and in the middle of active, urban and technology-vibrant community.
