Senior Software Developer

Please note: This is a full-time, non-contractual position.

Engineered Software, Inc produces software to perform engineering calculations and select industrial equipment. We have a dedicated team of engineers, programmers and sales/marketing professionals. Together we design & implement cutting edge software solutions for engineering design and troubleshooting applications. We sell those solutions directly to a vertical market from the large industrial users to small consulting engineering firms. We also offer training services and publication distribution, both business sectors that are rapidly expanding. We are known for being a leader and innovator within our industry - both in the U.S. and globally.

Engineered Software is growing software company in Lacey WA, 60 miles from Seattle, in a quiet suburban area at the south end of Puget Sound. We have grown steadily over the past 25 years, resulting from the teamwork of many talented and long-time employees.

Our senior developers are involved in all phases of development: collaborating directly with engineers, designing program features, creating user interfaces, writing new code, updating existing code, and aiding in testing. Our developers are also called upon to assist in other areas, such as writing installation scripts and occasionally providing customer support.

Professional Skills:
• Capable of undertaking complex problems and creating elegant effective solutions
• Understand, recognize and foster quality code architecture and design
• Broad perspective of development technologies and how we can use them

Technical Qualifications:
• Object Oriented Design & Programming skills
• Strong in C#, including ASP.NET framework
• Comfortable in C++, prefer experience with STL & Boost libraries
• Experience in database design
• Experience refactoring and working with legacy code
• Technical leadership, mentoring other developers
• Math or engineering background is desirable
• BS in computer science or related college degree

Personal Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be a team player who can motivate and interact with a diverse set of employees
• Ability to mentor & teach other team members

Education and Experience:
• BS in computer science or related field
• 5-10 Years experience in software development
• Strong math or engineering background is desirable

Compensation: Salary for this position will include salary and company profit sharing. We offer a full benefits package, however no relocation is available.
