(Austin, TX) This is a full-time contract position for an individual located in Austin, TX for a minimum of 3 months, with an option to extend the contract for up to an additional 6 months.
You'll be helping to build Classhive.com, a new Social Learning Community for college students. Classhive is about to go into general beta test.
Candidate Requirements
- Resident of the Austin area
- Recent experience developing and maintaining large PHP applications using MVC design patterns
- Experience with OOP in PHP
- Experience with AJAX in JavaScript or jQuery
- Experience with SQL
- Experience working on multi-person web development projects
- Experience using version control systems
- Knowledge of good software engineering practices
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience developing and maintaining CakePHP or Zend Framework applications
- MySQL database administration and programming experience
- Experience maintaining cloud-hosted web applications
- Experience designing web-based user interfaces
- Experience using Linux
- Shell programming experience
- Apache administration experience
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field of study
